Uses / Indications

In veterinary patients, idoxuridine is used for topical treatment of feline herpes virus-1 (FHV-1) keratitis.

Idoxuridine is chemically similar to thymidine and its substitution into viral DNA causes misreading of the viral genetic code thereby inhibiting viral
